I try to stay pragmatic about some of the issues that drive some people crazy, especially the tried and true nutz on the internet who can't seem to digest edgy information too well. I like to think of myself as a survivor, or at least down to earth enough to see the forest for the trees most of the time. I just can't express to others very well, the interlinking of information in my head, especially to people with a demand for a full explanation in a short period of time. At the risk of being classified in with those nutz, I still make the attempt, depending on the person I'm talking to. Nevertheless, I fail 99 percent of the time. Anyway, here is a pragmatic version of the way to look at things regarding the imminent loss of Ron Paul in the 2008 presidential elections...

Disclaimer: When I use the term "American" here, I mean citizens of the United States of America. I realize many people have an issue with the term applying to anyone who inhabits this hemisphere, north and south continent. I am making this note early because it is easier for me to just write "American" instead of "United States Citizen" every time. Take heed, but not offense, please.

There is a somewhat-realistic consideration of Americans in this world, regarding their US-centric knowledge of the peoples inhabiting the planet, their general lack of desire to know what else is "out there", and their lack of regard for everyone else. For example, American tourists going, well, basically anywhere outside of the US, expect those people to speak their language, accomodate their every need, and do not care what trail of destruction they leave behind socially, environmentally, or physically. They are Americans, after all, and should be treated as royalty. We own the biggest guns. We own the biggest industries. We own the biggest stock markets. We drive the biggest cars. We are big ourselves. So there. That commands respect in and of itself.

The rest of the world, kinda sorta resents this. They would like to kick our ass into gear and get us to learn the rest of the world and feed us a bit of humble pie. Pull our pants down in front of everyone to teach us a little humility.

Where does Ron Paul fit in? Well, as a candidate for the presidency of the US, he is tackling this, at the most get-down-and-dirty level of the game, as it is enveloping us economically. Yes, the rest of the world is conspiring to destroy the US economic power so that the wealth can be more easily spread and more easily manipulated. Ron Paul's argument has always been to stop this from hapenning.

Why stop it from hapenning? Because from its inception, the US has been a unique factor in driving the world's industries as a free-market unit, but with strict borders! The old world's economy went down the crapper a long time ago. Money was controlled, fiefdoms were established, monarchies and religious leaders collaborated to convince the masses that their power was divine right, and that it was the masses' duty to be subordinate. This has not changed much today, but the control over the masses is a little (much) more complex. The US was established to prevent this from happenning, and it was written in our Constitution, the way to make sure that could be done. The Founding Fathers had experienced the old world. They knew how bad a system it could be. They knew how evil and dangerous they could be. They gave us the laws with which to protect ourselves. And America flourished under these laws!

So what is happenning now, is that the industries and mechanations that made us great in our isolated country is the envy of the world. We do not even realize it, but the laws of our Constitution are being thwarted, not with "Amendments" like the old days, but by weird judicial interpretations of laws, presidential decrees written in "signing statements" that change what a law says and how it is to be enforced, and by riders on bills making their way through Congress. FOREIGN MONEY is behind it all. It is not enough that a globalized world is set to compete to its fullest. We have had 200 years of freedom to establish our country. The rest of the world that wants to compete with us has had 50 years and they want to equalize the playing field, not by simple competition and changes to their millenia-old culture and laws, but by dumbing down our laws and making us an inferior culture at the level of their version of laws and civilization. And I say this as a person who emigrated here FROM an old-world culture. An Old-World culture, whose practitioners hold on firecely to their history, their culture and their systems of values and beliefs, regardless of whether they were pragmatic or dogmatic. Go ask a Persian about their history and contribution to civilization and I guarantee you, you will be listening to a story of how great the Persians were. Probably for a few months before the Persian individual you're listening to will take a breather.

Europeans, Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Middle-Easterners, Africans, Russians, and everyone else wants America broken down so that we work at their level. In 100 years, the American Way will no longer exist! Our laws will be set by the United Nations. Our currency will be a regional currency. Our industries will be free-market industries, where American citizens will be competing with Mexicans, Indians, Chinese, and Romanians for the same jobs, at the same level of skill (low).

Internationally, everything will be at an even playing level. Not because everyone else changed their laws, learned to compete, and engaged their people to smarten up. Rather, because they managed to spend enough money to convert our capitalism and our laws into a shared pseudo-commune and a global communistic trading system. The standards, the tax breaks, the education, and every other facet of the American directive for growth, innovation, industrialization, and self-supporting prosperity is going to be dismantled. These were the sanctions of our national forefathers, and they still represent a threat to the rest of the world, for their capacity to continue making this country of ours, revolutionarily powerful. Ron Paul's presidential campaign made this very clear and spelled it out for us! Every contrived bit of it. Why didn't we hear about it? Because the money spent was great enough to keep it at a lull! The corporations (or owners of the corporations) in power will control that communism and they are spending the money NOW to make sure it happens. They are the collaborators with the foreign powers making this happen.

When a candidate for the PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is spelling out for you exactly how the demise of the country is going to happen, and NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT, you can bet your asses that there are very very powerful people controlling the minds of the Americans.

And I thought I was going to be pragmatic about this diary entry. Well, here is the pragmatic part. The devil's advocate side of things...

If I were someone from Indonesia or Tajikestan or Djibouti reading this, I would flip the writer off. I would say, "screw you American dirtbag!" (to myself, mind you). Why? Because it will take a long time for the rest of the world to change and become like America. The struggle for the little guys will be several hundred years old before the international neighborhood, with good fences and good neighbors, waged friendly competition and there was a happy international capitalistic game at foot. So for the Indonesian, the Tajikestani, or the Djiboutian, it makes more sense to chop down the behemoth monster on the block and divide up its corpse among the world and to devour it, rather than suffer hundreds of years of war and change before adapting the system to compete well. For the rest of the world, changing the world into a large communism makes sense. It will lift them up. And it will teach us "stupid Americans" a lesson.

The old world has infiltrated our government. They are disassembling it right in front of our eyes, and often WITH OUR APPROBATION AND COMPLICITY. Ron Paul's campaign has been completely based around these facts, and he hoped the American people were smart enough to listen, and to get on the self-preservation bandwagon. That he has failed is either a testament to how powerful the enemy is, how cowed or disengaged the American people are, or perhaps both.

The dude running to be our president is SCREAMING this at us! And no one hears. None of us is listening.
