There are people in the world that cannot help but make impacts and influence the lives of others. Somehow it is inherent in their existence that they move and shake the world. Sometimes it is to their utter detriment that they make such impact, but it is a compulsion that may not be resisted. One may call it an evolution of the mind, to the extent that the brilliant being is just out of reach of explaining how it came to be and why the brilliance and compulsion cannot be inhibited. And the impact happens. And the being is revered or despised or makes no waves, whatsoever, and yet millions feel the cascade of events set forth. These creatures are among us. They are those of us who have crossed the threshold of simple human capacity and ventured forth on the path that the creator set before humankind. The rest of us are dazzled or moved or enraged by them. Is it that they make us feel inferior? Is it that we become the new animal and they the evolved sentient beings? What touches them? What compels them? What controls them? When it means their demise, how is it that we feel joy in it? How is it that we fear their collapse, for they have the power to save us from ourselves, and yet we loathe their superiority and secretly wish for their destruction? We who are the underlings, the test run of the creator, those who still linger in the center of the petrie dish while our new sentient beings venture beyond the borders of our capacity, anguish at the thought of our own inferiority and involuntarily choose to protect ourselves from our own feebleness and meekness. We bask in their light, in their glory, in their anonymity. We take up arms against them. We destroy them in our minds. We destroy them with our words and hearts and in life with guns and knives, for having moved us. For having shaken us. We destroy them for having evolved. We destroy them for being our future. We destroy them for being our superiors. We destroy them for daring to impact us. We molest their creations for having changed our status quo. And when the day comes, we will destroy ourselves for to destroy them and everything because they were changing us. For they were saving us.
